Fayre Play's Social Launch Success: How we turned a brand from scratch to a whopping combined 23K following in less than a year
Fayre Play, Scotland’s first adults-only fairground games experience based in Glasgow and Edinburgh, embarked on a remarkable journey to build a strong social media presence cross-platform. They transformed a concept into a social media powerhouse, courtesy of Liftoff's ingenious strategy involving influencers, PR magic, graphic design, and the captivating world of user-generated content (UGC). This strategy skyrocketed Fayre Play to a combined 23K followers on Instagram, TikTok and Facebook.

Picture this: It’s February 2023 and Fayre Play is ready to launch into the digital space ahead of their March 2023 opening. With no tangible photography, launching an entirely new social experience was no small feat. But we love a good challenge! Utilising our graphic design talent, an announcement video was created on TikTok and Instagram resulting in a reach of 26,449 users. Recognising the potential of Instagram and TikTok as a platform to connect with their target audience, we focused our efforts on creating quality content including guests' real experiences in the venue (UGC) and inviting in relevant influencers to build awareness.
Influencer Collaboration
Enter the local influencers, the secret weapon to Fayre Play's rise to stardom. Attending and promoting Fayre Play's experiences, these influencers shared their authentic, relatable content on Instagram and TikTok, creating a buzz that echoed through the streets of Glasgow and Edinburgh.
The use of influencers not only brought immediate visibility to Fayre Play, but also established a sense of credibility and trust among the local audience. This contributed to a broadened reach, introducing Fayre Play to new communities within Glasgow and Edinburgh.

Hold on tight because TikTok took us on a wild ride! The TikTok campaigns weren't just a game-changer for Fayre Play; they were the spark that ignited a blaze of brand awareness. The magic of the TikTok algorithm brought organic growth and engagement to the right audience, essentially doing the targeting for us. Influencers sharing their venue experiences on TikTok combined the algorithm's magic with UGC, resulting in more bookings, brand exposure and even followers on other platforms. First impressions matter! Fayre Play understood the importance of building a brand image to the influencers invited to their launch. And with our help, that’s what they did! We crafted bespoke PR boxes filled with beautifully designed invites, a mini prosecco or gin, miniature ducks, and other iconic Fayre Play prizes. At Fayre Play, the party is not just inside the venue but all over social media! Fayre Play actively encouraged attendees to share their experiences using branded hashtags and in-venue competitions. User-generated content served as authentic testimonials, a continuous stream of diverse content for Instagram and TikTok, and a testament to the real impact of our events.
As part of our strategy, sharing UGC on Fayre Play's official account not only showcased the real impact of their experience, but also encouraged others to participate and share their moments, creating a positive feedback loop of community engagement.
